Wet Room Installation Wokingham

Level-access, fully tanked wet rooms built to make a small ensuite feel enormous and a family bathroom feel like a private spa — waterproofed the correct way, from bonded membrane up to finished tile. Wet room installers covering Wokingham, Winnersh and the surrounding area.

The most flexible bathroom you can build

Level-access, fully waterproofed, quietly luxurious.

A properly designed wet room feels like the calmest room in the house — a single flowing space with a rainfall shower, a linear drain and no threshold to step over. Done well, it makes a small ensuite feel much larger and turns a family bathroom into something close to a hotel spa. Done badly, it leaks. As wet room installers in Wokingham with more than ten years of experience, we build them the correct way: bonded tanking membrane first, finished tile last.

  • Full bonded waterproof tanking to walls and floor
  • Correct floor gradients falling to a linear or point drain
  • Level-access design — no threshold to step over
  • Suits small ensuites, cloakrooms and full family bathrooms
  • Accessible by design, without looking clinical
  • Slip-resistant tiling, glass screens and durable brassware

06

Drainage & ventilation

Correctly sized linear or point drains, falls built into the substrate, and ducted extraction sized to the room.

How a wet room is actually built

The finished tiling is the part you see; the waterproofing is the part that decides whether it lasts. We start by preparing the substrate and forming the fall — a gradient built into the floor build-up itself, never faked with thicker adhesive under the tiles — running to either a linear channel drain along one wall or a centred point drain sized to the shower's flow rate.

Walls and floor are then fully tanked with a bonded membrane system, with reinforcing tape at every internal corner, upstands carried well above splash height and collars sealed around each pipe penetration. Only once that envelope is complete does tiling begin. Slip resistance is specified properly for the floor, glass screens are fixed into solid backing, and extraction is sized so the room actually clears.

Planning a new wet room in Wokingham

A wet room is one project where the planning genuinely matters: the drain position, the direction of the fall, where the screen stops splashes reaching the door, whether the joists allow the drain body to sit where you'd like it. If you're planning a wet room from scratch, our bathroom design service works all of that out before anything is built, and a wet room can form part of a complete bathroom installation.

Underfloor heating pairs particularly well with a wet room — it dries the floor quickly between uses and takes the chill off tiled stone. Tiling detail matters a lot in a room this wet, and our approach is set out in more depth on the bathroom tiling page. Where the brief is about future-proofing rather than aesthetics, our accessible bathrooms service covers the same construction with comfort-height fixtures and discreet supports built in.

We install wet rooms across Wokingham, Winnersh, Emmbrook, Barkham, Sindlesham, Finchampstead, Earley and Hurst.

The process

From first call to final walk-through.

  1. 01

    Consultation

We visit your home in Wokingham or a nearby village, look at how the room is used, take accurate measurements and talk through what's working and what isn't.

  2. 02

    Design

You receive a considered layout with sanitaryware, tile and storage suggestions and, where it helps, a 3D visual so you can see the finished bathroom before it's built.

  3. 03

    Quotation

A fully itemised written quote covering labour, materials, timings and any preparation work — clear, transparent and fixed before we start.

  4. 04

    Installation

Your dedicated team fit the bathroom with dust sheets, daily clean-downs and clear communication throughout — usually two to three weeks on site.

  5. 05

    Final inspection

A detailed walk-through, snagging, aftercare guidance and a written workmanship guarantee — plus we're a phone call away for anything afterwards.

Our family bathroom was long, narrow and hopeless. They spent proper time on the design first, suggested turning the bath and moving the basin, and the room now works for four of us on a school morning. The same crew fitted it, so the finished bathroom matched the plan exactly.

Complete renovation of a bathroom that hadn't changed since the eighties. Old suite out, layout reworked, walk-in shower in and everything retiled. They turned up when they said they would, cleaned up every evening and the invoice matched the quote exactly.

We wanted a wet room upstairs and were worried about leaks. The tanking, floor falls and drainage were all explained before work started, and it's been completely dry since. The tiling around the drain is beautifully set out — you can tell it was measured twice.

Brand new ensuite off our main bedroom. Tight space, but the layout they suggested made it feel roomy. Finished on schedule, two small snags sorted within days.

A large main bathroom with a freestanding bath, double vanity, big walk-in shower and underfloor heating. The finishing is what stands out — level floors, mitred tile corners, silicone lines you'd struggle to fault. They were also honest about where spending more wasn't worth it.

Tiny downstairs bathroom that always felt cramped. Wall-hung fittings, a slim walk-in shower and a full-width mirror completely changed it. Over a decade of doing this clearly counts — nothing surprised them, including the pipework hidden in the floor.
